| Hip-Hop Rumors: Fun Flicks From The Grammys!
If all goes Jay-Z's way, the rap mogul will tie rock legend Elvis for the most number one albums in history, a feat that depends on the success of the rapper's American Gangster album. Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, landed his ninth number one album last year with Kingdom Come, which sold about 680,000 in its first week, the rapper's best to date. The Kingdom Come album put Jay-Z in a tie with another iconic rock act, The Rolling Stones, who have landed number nine number one albums throughout their 40-year career. If Jay-Z's American Gangster sells well, only The Beatles would have offered the music world more number one albums, with an incredible 19. American Gangster's main opposition include Cassidy's highly anticipated album B.A.R.S.
'Lost' fans abuzz about rejuvenated series return
Now the buzz over the show is so intense, it's luring back some fans who had drifted away. Yes, there is an end in sight. When a show is a hit, it can drag on longer than it should (witness the interminable "ER"). That's why some "Lost" fans worried there'd be years of cooked-up excuses for keeping Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and the gang in island limbo. Then last year, ABC agreed to let the show's executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse do what makes the most creative sense: set an end date for the series. Under the deal, there'll be 48 more episodes divvied into three seasons of 16 each (or that was the plan before the writers' strike). With the conclusion looming in 2010, the team behind "Lost" can now attempt to plot out the action better and ensure that every little moment counts towards a strong, artistically satisfying resolution, instead of, as Jensen notes, "the usual m.o.
Dupri: 'Timberlake Lacks Style'.
Janet Jackson's music mogul boyfriend has lashed out at Justin Timberlake in his new book, calling the pop superstar "ordinary looking" and a "skinny white kid". Producer Jermaine Dupri takes issue with Timberlake's success in The Making Of A Mogul: Young, Rich and Dangerous, because he thinks the SexyBack star could be much bigger if he worked on his image. He says, "I'm giving people my perspective as a music person, who creates artists from scratch. .
Our hungry ghosts
In the Downtown Eastside the angel of death slays with shocking alacrity. Having worked in palliative medicine, care of the terminally ill, I have encountered death often. In a real sense, addiction medicine with this population is also palliative work. We do not expect to cure anyone, only to ameliorate the effects of drug addiction and its attendant ailments and to soften the impact of the legal and social torments our culture uses to punish the drug addict. Except for the rare fortunate ones who escape the Downtown Eastside drug colony, very few of my patients will live to old age. Most will die of some complication of their HIV or Hepatitis C or of meningitis or a massive septicemia contracted through multiple self-injections during a prolonged cocaine run. Some will succumb to cancer at a relatively young age, their stressed and debilitated immune systems unable to keep malignancy in check.

Newcomer's charm fuels 'Bartlett'
Here's a name to remember: Anton Yelchin. OK, no one said it would be easy to remember. But make a mark of it: This kid's going to be around for a long time. He's got charisma, cool and cocky likability to spare. In fact, it seems somehow fitting to find him on the verge of breaking out with "Charlie Bartlett," a movie that co-stars Robert Downey Jr., about whom the exact same things could have been said 20 years ago. .
Woolworths accused of targeting cigarettes at kids
WOOLWORTHS supermarkets have been accused of promoting tobacco products to children. At the company's annual general meeting today, the head of the lobby group Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), told executives about a survey which found tobacco displays in Woolworths supermarkets were highly visible to children from both inside and outside the shops. ASH chief executive Anne Jones said the placing of the products was contrary to the company's claims the store was socially responsible. "Woolworths supermarkets are among the worst offenders for placing tobacco displays in prominent front-of-shop positions near other items that attract young people," Ms Jones said. "This is a lethal, addictive product which kills 15,000 Australians each year. Why is it displayed centre stage in a family store?" The survey found that 87 per cent of the 500 shops surveyed, including many Woolworths supermarkets featured tobacco displays in close proximity to confectionery, toys and novelty supplies that attracted children.

McCain Blasts Clinton's and Obama's Attacks On NAFTA
During a town hall meeting at the headquarters of Dell Computers in this suburb of Austin, McCain said criticism of NAFTA by New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama could have "an adverse effect" on Canada's commitment to fighting alongside U.S. troops in Afghanistan. "We need our Canadian friends and we need their continued support in Afghanistan," McCain said during the meeting with Dell employees. "So what do we do? The two Democratic candidates for president say that they're going to unilaterally ... abrogate the North America Free Trade Agreement. ... Now how do you think the Canadian people are going to react to that?" .
