| Arab League chief resumes Lebanon talks
ARAB League chief Amr Mussa resumed talks with rival political leaders in Lebanon overnight in a bid to break a deadlock that has left the country without a president for three months. Mr Mussa hosted a meeting yesterday bringing together two leading members of the Western-backed ruling coalition, parliamentary majority leader Saad Hariri and former president Amin Gemayel, with Michel Aoun, a Christian leader in the Syrian-backed opposition. The four-hour meeting ended at midnight (9am AEDT Monday) with no agreement between the parties on how to end a political crisis that has paralysed the government and led to mounting communal tensions. Today's meeting came on the eve of a fresh attempt in parliament to elect a new president. Fourteen attempts to hold a vote have been cancelled, triggering Lebanon worst internal crisis since the 1975-1990 civil war.
Vick House At Center Of Dogfighting Ring Sold
Michael Vick's rural Surry County home that was at the center of a dogfighting investigation has sold and will be auctioned next month. The Daily Press of Newport News reports that the deed of sale to Todd Builders Incorporated was filed today in the Surry County Circuit Court clerk's office. The 4,600-square-foot home will be auctioned off on December 15th. Kyle Hause Junior is a real estate agent who helped with the transaction. He says Todd Builders owner Wilbur Todd Junior bought the five-bedroom home as an investment. Hause calls the home the most famous house in America today. The five-bedroom home sold for $450,000. It had assessed for $747,000. Hause will auction off the property on December 15. That's five days after Vick is scheduled to be sentenced on a federal dogfighting conspiracy charge.
Bluffton post office simply must do better
We all recognize the strain rapid growth in Bluffton has placed on the people and facilities, but when a box of undelivered mail sits underfoot for nearly two months before things are set right, something else is wrong. The Bluffton Boys & Girls Club had to go searching for its mail last week after contributors asked about uncashed checks dating to December. Thirty-two thousand dollars lay among the more than 130 pieces of mail that did not make it into the club's post office box. Instead, the mail sat in a bin in the office -- along with notices to come pick up extra mail. .

Ryder Cup Battle
The final round stats evoke memories of the last Ryder Cup. At Brookline, the Americans were outplayed over the first couple of days but when the heat was really turned up they produced the goods when it mattered most. And so at Lytham on Sunday, the US side provided the winner in David Duval, outscored the Europeans heavily and holed the putts when it really mattered.
