Nobody is better in this 'entertainment'

Tonight, the CW announces a spin-off of one of the most-loathed programs of 2007. ''Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious'' (at 9 on CW 11 and 57, TV-PG,D,L), a 10-episode talent contest/elimination to determine the membership of a new girl group.

Robin Antin, the founder of the Dolls, is the judge and taskmaster here. She has the harsh, doomed look of a woman who has dedicated her life to luring preteens into the sleazy demimonde of burlesque entertainment.

As if the whole Pussycat thing weren't hateful enough, ''Girlicious'' sets about pushing buttons right away, all the better to enrage, horrify or shame the parents still in the room. One Girlicious wannabe gushes that she's more into Girliciousness than Boyliciousness, and it takes her mother a while to get used to that notion.

Dozier lawyer hopes troubles will go away

His current girlfriend, Andrea Brown, filed a petition for a protective order this week, alleging that Woods threatened her in the club that night and later came to her apartment, where she continued the threats and warned, "I'll be back."

She also threatened Dozier and kicked his car, Brown said in her petition, which was granted.

Protective orders are issued by the court to prevent harm pending further hearings. They may include banning abuse or threats, any communication, contact or stalking.

Woods, 21, is a dancer at The Gold Club at White Station and Summer, according to court records. Brown, also 21, works for Memphis City Schools, records show.

Attorney Leslie Ballin, who represents Dozier, said he plans to meet with the women or their attorneys to see if some peaceful resolution can be reached out of court.

Obama and McCain sweep 3 primaries

Barack knows your story, because it is his story. The causes that you hold dear have been the causes of his life. Barack has spent his entire career fighting for justice — as a community organizer in the streets of the South Side of Chicago, as a civil rights attorney, a constitutional law professor, an Illinois state Senator and a U.S. Senator.

In Chicago Obama was charge with rape when he was 17 years old charges droped after his dad payed off some cops ????

Crucial to Obama's primary success, are his advisers unabashed beliefs that they can turn our hopes and emotions to their advantage. Our dreams projected upon their candidate translate into their delegate counts. The religious zeal of these advisers rests on the belief that faith alone is the source of conviction, and that conviction assures determination which in turn guarantees results.

Spirit West Coast music festival is feast of personal ministry time

DEL MAR, Calif. — Outside the glow of concert lights and beyond earshot of the main stage at Spirit West Coast, a small army of volunteers uses the lure of the music festival to minister to hundreds of music lovers from across California, Nevada and Arizona.

It’s an aspect of the festival that Producer Jon Robberson finds especially rewarding.

"Regardless of the music style, the message of Jesus and His love permeates the music at Spirit West Coast," the festival’s Web site boasts. "The message of faith in Christ is delivered in many other ways, always with the paramount purpose of impacting people with the gospel of Jesus Christ."

This year, that message of faith will be delivered May 23 to 25 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Keynote speakers
One of the ways Robberson and his crew encourage ministry is with the nightly lineup of speakers and comedians.

Daish: We deserved victory

Ebbsfleet face two encounters against Aldershot in the semi-final and the head coach sees no reason why his side can't book an historic Wembley appearance against the league leaders.

He explained: "If you look at York, Torquay and Aldershot, who are all ex-league clubs, we always knew it was going to be tough.

"We will go there for the second leg as underdogs, but we've already shown this year we can beat anyone on the day, so there is nothing to fear."

A Wembley date will undoubtedly attract a huge turnout from north Kent, although the Fleet head coach said he was frustrated by the lack of numbers at last night's replay.

He explained: "It seems a bit strange to see almost 300 Fleet supporters travel to Burton and yet there were less than 900 at our place last night.

How much do families spend?

Most of my expenditure goes out in mortgage, council, bills, transport, food and private healthcare.

When we are short of money, the first thing that we try to stop spending on is going out to eat or drink, buying books DVD's etc. If we are still short of money, then we try to spend less on our weekly food shopping, and only buy new clothes when we really need to.

Over the years we have changed our spending habits according to what income we have had. For about four years we lived on one income, after our children were born. Money was very tight, so very little was left over after paying the bills for any anything else. Going out and buying new clothes was a thing of the past!

Q: I love my girlfriend very much. We are even planning to buy a place together. However, I am beginning to worry about how I will cope sleeping in a bed every night with two dogs. When I'm at her place, some nights I can't fall asleep as I await the inevitable tousling of covers, trot across the bedroom floor, slurping of water or bouncing in mid-air to be let outside at 3 a.m. My gal is used to this and has no problem sleeping. I've never had a dog.

McCain: Still Losing GOPs?

So if it's just one guy who wants to blow up the Superbowl, we leave him alone! ... The problem is less dumb bureaucrats than dumb law. ... [Note: I can't find Taylor's column online. If anyone has a free URL, let me know and I'll add it. Otherwise you can always go to National Journal and join for a day.]. Update: Taylor's piece should at some point be available here. ...

Always trust content from kausfiles! As foreshadowed in this space, Culture Editor Scott Stossel has escaped from The American Prospect . ... Who else will we soon be able to cross off this list? ...Most revealing line in Stossel's very tactful farewell message: "Much of it has been great fun ..."

Kf hears that the White House called Steven Holmes of the New York Times' Washington bureau on Wednesday, demanding a correction to the paper's story of two days earlier that started the controversy over that global warming report the administration had sent to the UN.

Bush's FDA - Perpetual Leaker Of Insider Info

The overly dramatic Dr Scher, even went so far as to tell Thomas Fleming, another doctor who just happened to send a letter to the FDA, disparaging Provenge, which was also put out on the internet by "The Cancer Letter," that he could not sleep because he was so concerned over the possibility of patients being harmed if Provenge was approved and that's why he wrote the letter. Dr Fleming then noted that he could not sleep either.

This is an utterly ridiculous remark coming from Dr Scher, considering that he and Dr Hussain voted with the majority 17-0 that Provenge was safe at the hearing.

The pharmaceutical companies that stood to benefit the most from the non-approval of Provenge were Novacea, Schering-Plough and Sanofi-Aventis because they have billions of dollars invested in research, drug trials, and cancer treatments involving therapies that would compete directly with Provenge for the same late stage prostate cancer patients.
